Who knew onions could be pretty? Yes, this beautiful white ‘flower’ is an onion that sat in the ground too long. We have a few of them that I just can’t get myself to pull because they look so pretty in the garden.
This weekend was the Eppie’s Great Race in Sacramento on the American River. I didn’t participate, but a few of my friends did so I thought I’d go cheer them on. The race took place right down the street from where my parent’s house is, so my husband and I parked and jogged over because we were running a little late. Turns out we JUST missed the finish, but I was able to snap a few colorful photos. This race looked so fun, I just may have to participate next year! The lone ranger..Kermit was hanging out too.Finish line.A few stragglers. One woman tipped her kayak right here and it looked SO hard to get back in!My two friends and Kaia girls who kicked some serious Eppie’s ass.
Can you believe how beautiful this place is? A friend of mine told me she visited a winery in Lake County, CA that was absolutely beautiful. I was shocked to hear about this lakefront winery that I’ve never seen because my husband is from this particular area and I’ve visited there many times. The next time we visited we made it our mission to visit Ceago and see what it was all about.
The wine was delicious. I am not usually a big white wine drinker, but this Sauvignon Blanc was perfect on a hot summer day. We were told that Ceago is the only winery on a Lake in the state of California. It was so nice being able to boat right up to the winery! If you happen to be in the area, definitely visit Ceago. The setting is beautiful, the people are wonderful, and the wine is delicious. What more could you need?
So I have been MIA for quite a while now and I really have no excuse. I’ve been busy having fun and have been out-of-town almost every weekend and I let my blogging dwindle.
BUT, I’m back and ready to get back to it :) I miss my blog and I miss all the WordPress peeps. Today’s blog post is short and sweet. I am checking off one of the items on my bucket list today- “Become a wakeboarding rockstar.” Okay, so I’m not quite a “rockstar” or a pro by any means, but I am getting much better than I ever thought I’d be. When I started wakeboarding I was horrible and couldn’t even get up on the water. Now I get up easily and am getting comfortable enough to jump the wake. For me, that’s a HUGE accomplishment. As one of the least coordinated and athletic people I know, jumping the wake on a wakeboard is kind of a big deal.
This is definitely my new favorite hobby. There is just something about gliding through the water and spending the day on a boat that puts a smile on my face.
